Our Day in Court

Posted Mon, 11/12/2007 - 6:51pm

Tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 13), RG4N will appear in the District Court of Travis County to argue that the Northcross redevelopment site plan is illegal.

We won't know which judge will hear the case until 9am, and the trial should begin shortly thereafter. Expect delays.

(Nov. 13 update: The case has been assigned to the 419th District Court, where it is being heard by the Honorable Orlinda Naranjo.)

We will present our case Tuesday and Wednesday. The City will present its side on Thursday and into Friday. Both sides will give closing arguments on Friday.

We will try to keep you updated on our website. We may send out an email update if something warrants one. The press also will be following the case.

The trial is open to the public. Our supporters are invited to attend.

We cannot stress enough the importance of respectful courtroom decorum at all times and regardless of your opinion of anything that occurs during the course of the trial. Absolutely no signs or displays of RG4N or anti-Walmart Supercenter messages, please.

We also request that you dress appropriately for the courtroom. RG4N T-shirts are not appropriate. As Mom always says, dress like you are going to church or work and you'll be just fine.

Most of all, thank you. Yes, you!

Thanks to our many supporters both in the Northcross area and all across Austin. The well-wishes and expressions of support at Feisty Fest and over the last several days are much appreciated.

We still need donations to help pay our amazing lawyers, who have spent countless hours these past few months preparing our case. So, please give what you can.
