Responsible Growth for Northcross (RG4N) is going door-to-door to distribute 10,000 newsletters to supporters and homeowners throughout the neighborhoods surrounding Northcross Mall.

The newsletter will be distributed by volunteers over a two-week period.

The 8-page informative newsletter explains the facts behind the RG4N lawsuit against the City of Austin and Lincoln Property Company. The newsletter also seeks to fortify public awareness about RG4N's mission and vision, as well as to correct some common misconceptions about the proposed redevelopment put forth by its proponents.

The RG4N newsletter continues to reinforce the reasons why the proposed redevelopment of Northcross Mall and a Wal-Mart Superstore would adversely affect the neighborhoods closest to Northcross.

Different perspectives are featured in the newsletter about why people should oppose the current Northcross redevelopment.

Along with a candid interview with the head officers of RG4N, there is a column by former Austin council member Brigid Shea that explains why she feels the democratic process was undermined in the way the City of Austin approved the development. An article by Christopher Lehman, chairman of the Sierra Club of Austin, states his opposition to the proposed Northcross redevelopment because of its negative environmental impact. And Chris Pieper, a doctoral candidate in sociology at UT, wrote an article about his religious and moral problems with Wal-Mart, called "Top 10 Reasons People of Faith Should Oppose Wal-Mart."

The RG4N newsletter includes a financial report on the group, and a requests donations to help fund its lawsuit.
